They say Europe is just an imaginary territory, that it will never be one country. Looking at this duo called NoblesseOblige it doesn’t seem so. Valerie Renay is a French actress that met Sebastian Lee Philip, a German guy in London.
Noblesse Oblige was born there where culture meet, in a big European city. London, the place where everyone melts, where everyone adapts and adopts. The result was like an explosion. 3 albums have been made since then: the last one is called Malady and it is going to be promoted with concerts all over Europe this October.
Their music is, of course, a fusion of electro with influences that come from new wave with a peculiar, yet unique, sound. Their video and performances are art devoted and inspired. Noblesse Oblige is definitely one of the coolest band around these days, to keep on listen. Here is the conversation we  had with this dynamic duo.

You are touring all over Europe, how are you? Feeling tired?

Valerie : Physically tired yes, but mentally energized by the contact with our audience at every show.

Why did you call your last release “Malady?

Sebastian: Most of the songs on the album deal with some sort of affliction of the mind, which can be described as a form of disease. I find the romantic sound of the word and its “negative” meaning a beautiful contrast. We also liked the fact that the pronunciation of the word sounds like “Melody”.

Define your music, if a definition is good with you.

Valerie: We express with music what cannot be express with words, it’s a different form of expression, you just have to listen.
